Itinerary

Day 1 : Ha Noi - Thai Nguyen - Ba Be National Park (L, D)

Drive: 240kms/7 hours

Picked up at the hotel at 8.00 heading to the northern province of Thai Nguyen crossing the Red river, the bustle and hustle street of Hanoi soon give way to endless, peaceful rice paddy fields of the Red river delta. Stop in Thai Nguyen for lunch followed by a visit to the Museum of the Cultures of Viet Nam Ethnic Groups which offers you an over understanding about the communities that you are going to enter. Continuing driving further to the northeast, you will arrive in Ba Be late in the afternoon. Join a Tay family on the the lakeside for dinner and a bed to get overnight.

Day 2 : Ba Be Cao Bang(B, L, D)

Drive: 120kms/4 hours

After breakfast with your hosts, you take a boat cruising around the celebrated lake listening to tale told by local guide while enjoying the heavenly beauty of the Vietnam's biggest natural lake ranked amongst 20 beautiful fresh lakes in the world in March 2005 by the International Conference on Fresh Lakes held in the US. After reaching the either end of the lake, you take a short walk to Dau Dang Waterfall. Meet your Jeep and start driving to Cao Bang. Dinner and overnight in Cao Bang at hotel.

Day 3 : Ban Gioc Waterfall(B, L, D)

Drive: 85kms/2.5 hours

After breakfast at the hotel, you take a northward drive to the beautiful Ban Gioc Waterfall. This picturesque, cascading waterfall is 53 meters high and has an impressive span of 300 meters. The drive itself is extremely interesting with unique landscapes, limestone karsts formations soaring from the verdant rice paddies along the roadsides, and also the local colorful ethnic people on their way to the market. Don't forget to wave them hello! After The Waterfall, the car takes you back to Ca Bang. There would be a stop at the expansive 2,144 meter Nguom Ngao Cavern on the way back. Back to Cao Bang, dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4 : Cao Bang-Ta Lung National Border Gate-La Village(B, L, D)

Trek: 15 km/ 04 hours

After breakfast, take a drive to Ta Lung National Border Gate. There would be a wander around the Gate before lunch. From the Border Gate, you start your trek along green valleys and over the lime stone mountains to La village which is located 15kms far away. Dinner and overnight with a Tay people in their stilt house.Day 5: La village - Na Nieng village(B, L, D)

Day 5: Trekking Village

Trek: 16 km/8 hours

You have breakfast with the Tay family then set off. Today, you go on your northeastern trek with visit to another Village-Na Nieng Village. The Village is located behind the lush forests and limestone mountains. You will reach it after 8 hours trekking. There is lunch enroute. You would join a local family for dinner and a stilt house to get overnight.

Day 6: Na Nieng village - Dong Khe- Pac Khoang village(B, L, D)

Trek: 16 km/8 hours

8h after breakfast leave the Na Nieng village to Dong Khe town-a historical site where there was a large military operation by Viet Minh against the French Colonists. Lunch in Dong Khe. 13 h continue to the Pac Khoang village .Dinner and over night in the Red Dao ‘s village.

Day 7: Pac Khoang-Na Pang (B, L, D)

Trek: 16 km/8 hours

8h after breakfast trekking through lime stone valley ,the small streams 12 h stop for lunch. 13 h continue walking to Na Pang village, Trang Dinh district – Lang Son. Dinner and overnight at Tay’s stilt-house

Day 8 (B ): Na Pang-That Khe- Hanoi

8h .after breakfast trekking to That Khe town. This another Town that French lost to Viet Minh Troop in the 1950 Border Operartion. 13h Drive back Hanoi with stopover in Lang Son. End the tour upon arrival in Hanoi.
